"5000 years ago... linen flax was available to kings only... today Procotex makes linen flax available to the world "

Scutched flax

This fibre was at the very origin of the company. The experience in flax sorting - a highly specialised skill in which all senses are used - was passed on from father to son. Thanks to this experience we now supply flax spinners all over the world. Our biggest markets for scutched flax are Western Europe, China, Brazil, India...

Hackled flax

The hackling is undoubtedly the most important stage in the production of spinning because the irregularities in the sliver due to improper hackling cannot be corrected during spinning. As pioneer and market leader with an annual capacity of 6,500 tons, we are proud to say that our hackled sliver is world-famous for its quality. However, we maintain a preference for discontinuous hackling. In 2002, an exclusive partnership was established with a company in Kaunas (Lithuania). So, the quality and the competitiveness are guaranteed for the future.

Carding & Combing

Twenty years of experience in these extremely delicate and highly specialised operations have born fruit. We produce broken fibres, carded tops and combed tops that worsted spinners can blend with wool, rayon, silk... Our range of products also includes bleached, washed and degummed comb tops.

Cottonised flax

At the request of cotton spinners some twenty years ago to make flax fit for being blended with short fibres such as cotton, polyester, rayon... we developed Tulip, which soon became a standard for all major spinners who blend flax with cotton. The flax fibre is worked up into a pure fibre with a regular spinnable fibre length. Our annual capacity of 2,500 tons is permanently checked for fibre gauge and length in our ultramodern laboratory

Flax by-products

Flax processing produces a whole range of by-products that are used by the paper, spinning and chemical industries. Did you know that several bank notes are made of high-grade flax products?
